Social Networking and google
Looking at your Facebook or your twitter or for a select few people google plus is a normal daily thing. Many of us feel unnatural when we go without one of these site for more than a day, some feel slightly weird even if they go without Facebook for more than a few hours. However is this good? We do not know what these sights do with all this information they have on us, they have no obligation to keep all our personal information...personal, this is a problem. What do they do with this. Well the fact is none of what we put as private is in fact private. If we write anything on Google Plus of Facebook that is personal, a poem or a song, it does not belong to the person who wrote it, no it belongs to Facebook or Google Plus, so if this song was catchy and or this poem was good so and one got the poem published or the song got played on the radio, Facebook or google would be liable to sue you. Does this seem right or fair to you? Does this normal for a modern day democracy? unfortunately modern day media companies like these can take advantage of their addictive nature and make us not realize that our ideas could be stolen by billion dollar companies who make billions of dollars of revenue each year. This brings me to a slightly different subject of does this infringe on the freedom of the internet, after all the internet is supposedly a place where people could become artist within their own rights (according to Steve Jobs old CEO of Apple), a place where people can become inventive, and what good is this when peoples creativity can be so easily stolen by billion dollar Companies that don't need the money really. The internet should be something where people can be free to explore and create beauty. This does not seem fair for all the people who have the ability to be create but don't want to due to the fact that getting what they have created to a wider audience via Facebook or Google plus is just not possible if what they have created can so easily cost them so much money, in the form of being sued. The power of these companies if anything disrupts the inventiveness of the public, and the common man. The internet is not a free place if this carries on.
