"A new push to encrypt email, keeping messages free from government snooping, is gaining momentum." 

Finally something is being changed and large browsing companies are standing up to the NSA and others. 

"A major catalyst for email encryption were revelations about widespread online surveillance in documents leaked by Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor."

This shows that the "traitor" Edward Snowden has done exactly what he wanted to achieve. In a very responsible and mature way he has managed the world online to begin to change the way they treat privacy. He alone has done this, the actions of one man. 

This is a huge stepping stone when it comes to privacy and as I have been saying for months a very neccisary one. It was a long time coming but we are finally getting to a place were peoples privacy online is starting to be respected.  

Laws in Germany have now been changed to try and stop the tide of digital information going to the NSA. 

But not only is the encrytion going to be a good thing, it is going to be easy for email users and internet users worldwide. "Our vision is to make encryption and privacy mainstream by making it easy to use," Stockman told AFP. "There's no installation. Everything happens behind the scenes automatically." This means that it will just be like writing a normal email, exept now you don't have to worry about it going into the wrong hands. 

"The MPs say the current system was designed in a pre-internet age when a person's word was accepted without question. "It is designed to scrutinise the work of George Smiley, not the 21st-century reality of the security and intelligence services," said committee chairman, Keith Vaz. "The agencies are at the cutting edge of sophistication and are owed an equally refined system of democratic scrutiny. It is an embarrassing indictment of our system that some in the media felt compelled to publish leaked information to ensure that matters were heard in parliament.""

In the light of all the Snowden discoveries, we have found out many secrets about security agencies, and by all means this article shows that it is not just America, and the fact that it is in England and very real also. This can not be the case, and the change must start in America, where the issue of privacy was first uncovered, and Obama making talking about the NSA's private dealings punishable is just a step in the wrong direction. There needs to be some sort of overhaul of personnel, there needs to be some change in organization, but there is not such thing. Despite the public uproar no policies have been changed and no one is doing anything to change any of that. The change is well overdue and it should happen. 
  

I know I have been complaining about the NSA a lot recently, and that may make some people angry. Don't get me wrong the NSA are not the only people spying and destroying our personal privacy, but they are the most ignorant (they are the most hypocritical, and they are the only ones who have managed to get found out on a global scale); that is why i complain about them, the hypocrisy and the fact that in America a organisation like the NSA can exist.

Barack Obama will be confronted by the German Chancellor about hacking her phone in the days to come and I am just interested how they are going to prove the hacking of Merkel's mobile telephone was legitimate and was an actual threat to america via probable cause... the answer is they cannot prove that she actually threatened america...... so why? Not that it is just the NSA as you can see the russians are also very involved in spying, the the americans are just get caught more, due to incompetence.  

The one piece of news that I have actually thought that the NSA are taking a step in the right direction was this

It is at time like these when i think that it is indeed possible for the NSA to change but then I take a look at all the things that we know about them and all the steps that they are not taking to improve. Yeah the NSA says things, but they don't care about the individuals, they just want nothing you do to be private anymore, and that is why their an organization that has to be stopped.
